Yamaha launches new music label
Yamaha Corp, the company known for it’s musical instruments, commercial and home audio/visual and live sound gear, has recently launched The Yamaha Entertainment Group, a new music label that will focus their efforts on the indie artist.
“Because of technology, there’s never been an easier time in history to be heard,” says label head Chris Gero. “Yet there’s an amazing inability to be heard because technology has taken the profitability out of this business.”
Gero mentions that the label will not target any specific genre and will release 5 records, annually. To keep costs down, they plan on employing seven people, while collaborating with a team of 30 consultants. Alternative Distribution Alliance will be the labels distributor.
The Brit band Leogun, is the labels first signing.
